Mandelic Acid Peel

A gentle AHA peel designed to refresh the skin and brighten uneven tone.

Mandelic Acid Peel at HiSculpt Aesthetics, Melbourne

Overview

The Mandelic Acid Peel is a gentle AHA chemical peel designed to exfoliate and refresh the skin while improving the appearance of uneven tone, congestion, texture and dullness. Mandelic acid provides a more gradual exfoliating action, helping leave the complexion looking smoother, clearer and more radiant. Treatment suitability must be determined following consultation and skin assessment.

Key Benefits

  • Provides gentle chemical exfoliation
  • Helps improve the appearance of uneven texture
  • Helps brighten dull-looking skin
  • Supports a clearer-looking complexion
  • Helps improve the appearance of congestion
  • Helps improve the appearance of uneven skin tone
  • Leaves skin feeling smoother and refreshed
  • Supports a more radiant-looking complexion

How It Works

During the treatment the skin is cleansed and prepared before the Mandelic Acid Peel is professionally applied according to your skin assessment and treatment plan. You may experience mild warmth, tingling or temporary sensitivity during or following treatment. The skin may appear slightly pink or feel dry or tight afterwards, and some clients experience light flaking or peeling over the following days while others experience little or no visible peeling — visible peeling is not required for the treatment to have performed its exfoliating action. Individual responses and results vary.

Who Is Suitable

Tailored to your concerns

Uneven skin tone, dull or tired-looking skin, congestion, uneven skin texture, blemish-prone skin, post-blemish marks, the appearance of superficial pigmentation and general skin rejuvenation. Suitability is determined following consultation and skin assessment.

Before your appointment

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning before treatment.
  • Do not attend with sunburned, irritated or compromised skin.

  • Avoid strong exfoliating products and other potentially irritating active skincare before treatment, as advised.
  • Inform HiSculpt of any recent skin treatments, peels, laser treatments or cosmetic procedures.
  • Inform HiSculpt about relevant medications, prescription skincare or changes to your health that may affect treatment suitability.
  • Arrive with clean skin where possible.

Important

  • Treatment will only proceed when the skin is considered suitable following assessment.
  • If you use prescription medication or prescription skincare, please discuss any changes with your prescribing healthcare professional — we don't provide medication-discontinuation advice.

First few days

  • Keep skincare gentle and simple while the skin settles.
  • Use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser.

During your session

During the treatment the skin is cleansed and prepared before the Mandelic Acid Peel is professionally applied according to your skin assessment and treatment plan. You may experience mild warmth, tingling or temporary sensitivity during or following treatment. The skin may appear slightly pink or feel dry or tight afterwards, and some clients experience light flaking or peeling over the following days while others experience little or no visible peeling — visible peeling is not required for the treatment to have performed its exfoliating action. Individual responses and results vary.

Downtime

None to light dryness or flaking for a few days. Visible peeling is not required for the treatment to work.

Results timeline

Skin may feel smoother and look fresher within days, with gradual improvement in tone and texture. Visible peeling is not a measure of effectiveness and individual responses vary.

These are general guidelines. Individual preparation and aftercare instructions may differ following your consultation — please follow the personalised advice provided by your HiSculpt practitioner.

If you experience an unexpected or significant skin reaction, contact HiSculpt Aesthetics for guidance and seek appropriate medical care where necessary. For urgent medical concerns, contact your GP or call 000.

Frequently Asked Questions

Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) used in professional skincare to exfoliate the surface of the skin.

Not necessarily. Some clients may experience mild dryness or flaking while others experience little or no visible peeling.

No. Visible peeling is not necessarily an indication of treatment effectiveness.

It may help improve the appearance of dullness, uneven texture, congestion, blemish-prone skin, post-blemish marks and uneven skin tone.

This varies according to the individual's skin, concerns, treatment goals and response. A personalised treatment plan can be discussed following assessment.

We recommend leaving the skin bare for the first 24 hours while it settles, then mineral makeup can usually be resumed once the skin is comfortable. Your practitioner will confirm this for your skin at your appointment.

Treatment combinations and the timing between them are determined individually following your skin assessment. We recommend discussing any combination with your practitioner rather than combining treatments yourself.
